Understand the reporting structure tab

Laying down your reporting structure is crucial to a proper accounting of your carbon emissions in your organization.

The default view of this company structure is a 3-level organization chart of your parent organization, its entities, and the individual units within each entity.

Entities represent legal entities that are part of your organization.

Units is a generic term that describes any entity that fall under a entity: usually locations such as offices, or manufacturing plants. This largely depends on the context of your organization.

Filter your organization structure:

Since you have the option to add custom categories to your entity, you can also filter your company structure by them. This is a great way to filter your view by geography, product, type of business, or any other logic.

By clicking on “Show categories” you are able to add a level in the structure and view them by categories.

Please note that if a entity has multiple categories, it will be shown in each of them.

  • Does my organizational structure have to match my company's official organizational structure?
No. What’s important is that the organizational structure in Daato includes all units and subunits from which you want to collect data in any of the modules.
