How to Upload IROs

If you have already conducted a materiality assessment and simply want to import the IROs into Daato, or if you have IROs from an industry initiative that you wish to assess for your company using Daato, you can easily import them.

At the same time, you can also use our IRO suggestions tailored for specific sectors, which we have created based on research and available sustainability reports -> more below.

Here’s how it works:

In Step 2 of the materiality assessment, “Identify IROs,” scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Import.”

A window will open, allowing you to download a template, which you can then fill with your IROs and re-upload.

Here are some tips to ensure a smooth IRO import:

  • Check the language version: Download the template in the same language you intend to upload it. The template language is determined by the tool's language setting at the time of download.
  • Maintain the template structure: Use the predefined columns in the template. Modifying or adding columns may cause upload errors.
  • Keep dropdown values unchanged: Use only the predefined selection options. Changing capitalisation, adding symbols, or entering custom values can cause errors.
  • Fill in required fields: The columns "Name," "Description," and "Sustainability matter" are mandatory.
  • Optional information: The "Source" column can be filled in optionally.
  • Additional details for IRO descriptions: The "Timeframe" column, as well as the "Actual or Potential" and "Negative or Positive" columns for impacts, are generally required. Alternatively, these details can be added directly in Daato in Step 2 .
  • Manual assessment: The "Manual assessment" column allows you to enter a result directly without going through the Daato's evaluation logic. In this case, the standard assessment criteria (Scale, Scope, Likelihood, Irreversibility) do not need to be filled in. If you want to use these criteria and apply the calculation logic, leave the "Manual assessment" column blank and complete the evaluation in Step 3.

Use Our IRO Suggestions

At Daato, we offer sector-specific IROs, which can be downloaded as an Excel file here and uploaded directly into the tool. These IROs are based on extensive research, professional literature, and, for example, sustainability reports from companies within these sectors. Our focus is on the 40 sectors specified by EFRAG.

Each Excel file includes:

  • Relevant IROs for Your Sector: A curated list of IROs that are most likely material for companies in your sector. This saves you time by narrowing down the selection of key IROs relevant to your business activities.

  • Detailed Explanations: Each IRO is accompanied by explanations of why it may be relevant to your sector. This helps you understand the significance of each IRO and how it relates to your operations, stakeholder expectations, and regulatory requirements.

How to Use the IROs:

  • Download Files: Download the Excel file that corresponds to your sector from Daato’s resource library. ATTENTION! - If you download multiple IRO files, please merge them into one file first and delete duplicates - or delete them in the tool after uploading. IROs are sometimes relevant for multiple sectors and therefore appear in multiple files in a similar or identical form.

  • Review and Customize: Go through the list of IROs and explanations and identify those that are most relevant to your specific activities. You can add or remove items according to your unique context.

  • Integrate into Daato’s DM Assessment: Use the curated list as the foundation for your materiality assessment, incorporating stakeholder feedback to align with your strategic objectives. Use the provided explanations to deepen your understanding of each IRO and to communicate their importance both internally and externally.
