"View as..." - View the System as a Different Role
Modified on Tue, 19 May at 3:31 PM
Admins can use the "View as…" feature to quickly check how the platform looks and behaves for other user roles.
This is useful for:
- testing workflows
- verifying permissions
- understanding what other users can access
- troubleshooting visibility issues
Start role simulation
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Select View as….
- Choose a role from the dropdown.
- Confirm your selection.
You are redirected to the home page and the platform behaves as if you had the selected role.
What changes during simulation?
You only see what the selected role would normally have access to, including:
- modules
- reports
- entities
- actions such as editing, approving, or submitting
For example:
- Entity-based roles only see assigned entities
- Data Providers may have very limited access
- User Management is hidden
Your actual account remains an Admin.
Other users still see you as an Admin.
Return to Admin view
A banner appears at the top of the page while the simulation is active.
To stop the simulation, click Return to Admin role.
You can also sign out and sign in again to reset the role view.
