This is how you or other users can log into Daato

When visiting this page, you are probably asking yourself how your colleagues will be invited to Daato and can access the system. Here we explain how this works.

User Invitation

Users cannot sign up to the system independently. They can only be invited to the system via the user management tab and then receive an invitation via email, containing a link to set up their password and login to the system.

Invitation Email

  • The invitation email includes a unique link.
  • The link directs the user to a page where they can set up their password.
  • Setting up the password confirms the user's invitation.
  • Invitation link is valid for 7 days.

  • If a user does not click on the invitation link early enough they will land on a page telling them that the link has expired.
  • This is explained directly in the invitation email to avoid user confusion. The included message also reiterates that the original email address to which the invitation was sent needs to be used when signing in on the Daato home page that the link in the email links to. This is to prevent confusion among suppliers, for whom the general (info@somesupplier.com) email address was used and later the message was forwarded.

Accessing the Tool

  • Users must provide their email address to access the tool.
  • If the email address belongs to a user who hasn't accepted their invitation:
    • The user is redirected to a page to provide a one-time code.
    • A one-time code is sent to the user's email.
    • Upon entering the code, the user is directed to the password setup page.

  • If the email address belongs to a user who has already confirmed their invitation:
    • The user is directed to a login page.
    • The user can enter their password or choose to log in using a one-time code.
    • If the one-time code option is selected, a code is sent to the user's email.

Data Request Notifications

  • Invited users who haven't accepted their invitations can still receive data requests.
  • When such a user receives a request, they get an email notification with a link to the request's page.
  • Before accessing the request page, the user must go through the authentication flow described in section 3.

One-Time Codes

  • One-time codes do not expire over time.
  • Each one-time code can only be used once.
