Best Practices for Requesting Data Through the Daato System
Modified on Wed, 2 Oct, 2024 at 2:14 PM
To ensure smooth and efficient data requests through the Daato system, it's important to follow a few best practices. These steps have been shown to improve response rates and reduce technical issues. Below, we provide guidance on how to manage the process effectively, including a sample heads-up email for your use.
1. Send a Heads-Up Email in Advance
Our experience with all customers shows that sending a personal email in advance, notifying the recipient about an upcoming data request through Daato, significantly increases the chances of receiving a timely response. This email serves as a polite reminder and helps the recipient prepare for your formal request.
2. Whitelisting Daato Domains to Avoid Delivery Issues
Emails sent through the Daato platform may occasionally be blocked by the recipient’s IT security settings. To prevent this, we strongly recommend asking the recipient’s IT team to whitelist Daato’s domains. Including this request in your heads-up email can help ensure that the data request is received. The domains that should be whitelisted are:
*.daato.app/*
*.daato.io/*
*.daato.io/*
3. Request Confirmation if the Email Is Not Received
In your heads-up email, it is helpful to ask the recipient to notify you if they do not receive the formal request through Daato. This allows you to stay on top of any potential delivery issues and follow up if needed.
4. Email Tracking and Delivery Notifications
Daato includes an email tracking system that will notify you if your email is not delivered. If an issue occurs, you’ll receive a notification so that you can take corrective action promptly.
Example Heads-Up Email
Subject: Upcoming Data Request via Daato
Dear [Recipient Name],
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to give you a quick heads-up that I’ll be sending you a data request through the Daato platform shortly.
To ensure the email arrives without any issues, I kindly ask your IT team to whitelist the following domains:
*.daato.app/*
*.daato.io/*
*.daato.io/*
If you don’t receive the request, please let me know, and I will follow up as necessary.
Thank you in advance for your help, and I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
[Your Name]
