What is the Business as Usual (BAU) line in the CO₂-Footprinting module?

Modified on Fri, 6 Jun at 2:58 PM

The BAU line is the “do-nothing” forecast that the CO₂-Footprinting module draws automatically while you create a target. It begins at the emissions figure in your selected baseline report and then grows each year by the annual growth rate you specify (for example, expected head-count or revenue growth). In the Review step, and also in the Target dashboard, these future BAU values appear as solid grey columns

A. Business as Usual

What is it?
BAU is the reference line. It starts at the baseline year in your chosen report and climbs each year by the Annual growth rate you enter during target creation. The grey columns in the Review step show the resulting tonnes of CO₂.

Why does it matter?
Seeing the BAU forecast makes the size of the challenge clear. If the grey bars run far above the target line, you know the reduction plan needs stronger measures.
