Create a new carbon footprint (in the updated CO2 workflow)

Modified on Thu, 24 Jul at 11:52 AM

After you have created a reporting structure that contains all entities required to disclose their CO₂ data, you can begin the decarbonisation workflow by setting up a new report.

In the redesigned CO₂ workflow within the EQS Sustainability Cockpit the old “Data collection” area now appears as “Reports.” From this page you can launch new reports, revisit earlier ones and export any report when needed.

To create a carbon-footprint report click New report. A dialogue opens where you choose the reporting year, decide whether to copy data from an earlier report and set the reporting period. The option to add emission factors manually has been moved to a later step, after you select activities, to make the process more intuitive.

Copy values from existing report:

If you select and Copy values from existing report, the system duplicates relevant information from a prior report. For example, if last year you assigned a child entity to a particular scope category and want the same setup this year, this feature applies the assignment automatically so you do not have to repeat it inside every category. If you have no previous reports, you can skip this step now and use it in the next cycle.

The copy function also brings in last year’s activities. Because emission factors can change between periods, those values are not imported automatically. You will add or adjust them later when reviewing activities; a separate helpdesk article explains that step in detail.

Click Create and the new report appears immediately, ready for you to continue with the CO₂-footprinting process!
